Tile Murals and Artist in Residency Programs
A theme based mural creates excitement and camaraderie over a specific school program, event or set of values in a colourful way that is timeless and durable, either indoors or out. Clay for Kids works with you to design a clay tile mural where each participant creates and hand builds a clay tile under the supervision of one of our professional pottery instructors. The finished clay tiles are then mounted on a plywood background which has been cut and painted to enhance the theme or space you allocate to it. We have created clay tile murals for schools from 45 to 750 students. Clay for Kids is a recipient of the Artist and Education Grant available through the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. The link to the Alberta Foundation for the Arts is: http://www.affta.ab.ca/default.aspx and you can access the Artists and Education Project Grant Application Form here. Creating a meaningful project will leave a legacy in your school. Here is a selection of our mural work: |
